Huff & Puff
Phillippa Egerton
Phillippa trained in Mural Design at Chelsea School of Art and a Printmaking MA at Wimbledon so works in a wide variety of mediums and has won prizes for her printmaking. She spent her childhood in East Africa and retains strong memories of the colours, textiles, people and animals that has influenced her work. She has had eight solo shows including a show about Climate Change at St Mary’s Norman church, Battle last year and has participated in numerous group shows and has just exhibited with Roopa Basu “Dappled Moments” at Sprout. Her political awareness is shown in her dystopian prints featuring toys and her political Cake Heads; she has always done abstract pieces which provides the analytical layer on which other work is based, including her urban scenes.
This exhibition Huff and Puff is an opportunity to reshow her Climate Change print paintings but alongside her other work, which includes abstract work, animal paintings as well as domestic scenes. She will also be running some workshops based round block printing.
